This speculative section compares Saria with some look-a-likes.

Ilia · A character from the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Ilia is seemingly a close friend of Link's and takes care of the horses in their village of Toaru. This sounds a lot like Malon, especially since Ilia provides Link with the horse he'll journey with for the duration of the game, much like Malon did in LoZ:OoT. However, from a visual standpoint, Ilia looks almost identical to Saria. Interestingly enough, Ilia's running off into the forest/mountain is apparently the start of Link's adventure in LoZ:TP, much like how Saria's disappearance in the latter half of LoZ:OoT was the beginning of adult Link's quest. Kana · Kana is a J-rock (Japanese rock) singer who, although she changes her hairstyle often, has dyed her hair green, like Saria's, many times. Her and Saria both feel a little out of place and like to be alone a lot. Strangely enough, Kana is a bit of a forest freak: she claims to live in the woods, communicate with the bugs, animals and spirits there, and play her music there as well (just like Saria!). She says the woods inspire her and allow her to relax. She's what I tend to consider the "real life" Saria.

Sailor Mercury (aka Amy/Ami) · One of the senshi from the manga and anime "Sailor Moon". These two look similar with their pale skin, hair style and eyes. They are both cheery but somewhat reclusive people, Ami preferring to study and Saria preferring to play music rather than hang out with friends. The one major confliction is their elements: Sailor Mercury's water versus Saria's earth.
